THE EPIPHANY OF THE LORD, JANUARY 6

January 6 is celebrated as the Feast Of The Epiphany.
In parts of Europe, including the Mediterranean, it is known as Three Kings’ Day,(Span: la Fiesta de Reyes)

The term epiphany means "to show" or "to make known" or even "to reveal." In Western churches, it recalls the journey of the Three Wise Men or Magi,
who followed a star to Bethlehem bringing gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh for the Christ Child,
This act acknowledged Jesus before the world as Lord and King.

In this sense, the Three Kings represent the Gentiles, or non-Jewish believers
in Christ to whom the promise of salvation originally intended for Israel has been extended.
The Epiphany underlines the universal importance of this child, outside of his immediate family and countrymen, continuing his proclamation begun by John the Baptist
during Advent.
